20-bed facility at the heart of a well-integrated, total care system from primary care to specialty care
Patient experience is the highest priority
Patient population includes new borns through geriatric patients
Houses a very busy outpatient clinic
Also houses a Specialty Clinic with a variety of visiting specialists including Cardiology, Urology, OB/GYN, Podiatry, ENT and Opthamology
Selects the a! ppropriate staff that is the best fit clinically and represent! s the team's goals of professionalism and improving the patient experience
About Nursing at Ogallala Community Hospital
- Staffed with RNs and support staff to include: CNAs/NAs, LPNs, Ward Clerk
- Wide variety of equipment and software in our facility due to our diverse patient volume.
- Currently we are using Cerner and Peri-gyn software for our in-patients.
- OCH patient population includes new borns through geriatric patients.
- Our Med-Surg staff provides services to our OB, ER, and MedSurg/Skilled Care patients as well as recovering surgicals.
- After orientation, the RN staff rotates through the various departments.
- Training is available such as residency programs if competencies need improvement in the specified area.
The CNO establishes the vision for and provides leadership in the delivery of excellent p! atient care and in the achievement of a variety of facility/regional/system initiatives.
Oversees direct patient care activities and clinical education and development.
High performance is essential in improving operational effectiveness; assuring customer satisfaction, clinical excellence, physician and employee satisfaction; and in developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
As a member of the facility's executive team, the CNO participates in decisions impacting the facility and operational performance.
The incumbent may be a member of the regional leadership team and participates in activities related to regional strategies.
Additionally, the CNO participates with the other system CNOs in establishing evidence based standards of practice, both clinical and managerial, and ensuring the company's ability to reliably meet those standards.
The CNO may assume full administrative responsibility in the absence of the! CEO.
Requires licensure as a professional nurse in the state ! of practice.
Masters of Science degree is required.
Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree must be in Nursing.
Clinical and management experience demonstrating progressive leadership development and competency is also required.
