Description: is currently seeking to employ Nurse Educator - Women's & Children's Services right now, this job will be placed in Nebraska. The Nurse Educator serves as an educator and resource for nursing staff in the assigned clinical department to analyze, develop, organize, implement and evaluate all staff e! ducation needs and requirements. Assures clinical collaboration and continuity of practice with the medical staff and other departments providing care to assigned patients.

1. Creates learning modules and materials to increase Childbirth’s assigned knowledge, skills and empathy for patients/families experiencing high risk conditions antepartum, intrapartum or postpartum.
2. Facilitates clinical practice education for childbirth services nursing staff in other departments which offer high risk services (high risk obstetrics care and NICU).
3. Collaborates with other Nurse Educators to provide comparable education for the childbirth staff working in OR and PACU.
4. Recruits additional preceptors and coordinates their training/orientation with Education.
5. Works collaboratively with the unit-based practice committees to make changes in practice, procedures and nursing care plans as indicated by our professional organizations or research-based litera! ture.
6. Works within the systems of Bryan Medical Center ! to make changes in practice and to enhance communication and collaboration between departments.
7. Assists with system-wide initiatives (chart audits, quality improvement plans, orientation to new equipment).
8. Coordinates community health educational programs for Women’s and Children’s health including: Evaluating educational needs of prospective patients and assisting in planning and delivery of educational offerings to meet the respective needs. Assists in the development of new programs. Participates in activities to build community awareness of provided educational offerings.

Requirements: Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Minimum of two (2) years current nursing practice in assigned area of care required. Prior experience in clinical education preferred.
