The Mother and Baby Director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and will function as an extension of the CNO with oversight for the practice of nursing on this campus. The Director of Maternal and Child Health will be supported by 2 Nurse Managers over the departme! nts of Obstetrics and Pediatrics. The Maternal and Child Healt! h Director partners with Director's across the hospital to promote a culture of excellence where evidence-based practices are demonstrated in patient care.
The Labor and Delivery Director will provide overall guidance to Lactation Consultants, Nurse Educators, Patient Care Supervisors, and all Nursing Staff in Women's and Children's Health. The Maternal and Child Health Director will participate in client and staff education as well as play a key role in ensuring client satisfaction and quality outcomes are met. The Director of Mother and Baby will coordinate and facilitate clinical teams in order to improve nurse specific indicators.
This busy, Birthing Center sees 150-200 deliveries per month across 25 suites, and is often at full capacity. This Labor & Delivery unit offers custom education regarding the full cycle of the birthing process including classes for the entire family: nutrition during and after pregnancy, physical and emotional experiences of ! labor, comfort techniques for labor and birth, medications and medical procedures, and postpartum care for mother and baby.
L&D and Pediatric Services houses approximately 100 FTE's. Pediatric services include: Newborn Care, General Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Endocrinology, and more Pediatric sub-specialities. A 10-bed Pediatric Unit supports the above services.
