Veterinary Cancer Group of Los Angeles is hiring a Doctor's Assistant to join our team!

Rate of pay: $18-23/per hour based on experience

Hours: Full/Part time. 10 hour shifts. Must be available to work between the hours of 8am to 7pm, Tuesday-Saturday.

We are currently seeking a veterinary doctor assistant/ records coordinator to join our amazing team. Veterinary Cancer Group- LA was founded in 1992 and has grown from a one doctor practice into one of the largest and most well-renown veterinary oncology groups in the world. We are thrilled to be celebrating 30 years in practice this year. We know how frightening it is to learn that your pet has cancer. The good news is that our team of board-certified radiation and medical oncologists are here to provide compassion, support and guidance to our clients and patients

The Doctor Assistant/ Records Coordinator works hand & hand with our doctors to provide them support while communicating with our clients. The ideal applicant(s) will demonstrate excellent verbal skills, be enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly, have a professional appearance and professional demeanor, be able to multi-task, a positive team player, pay attention to detail and be reliable. A desire to help animals and their owners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Perform call backs to clients providing updates or answering questions
  • Generating medication labels & filling prescriptions
  • Veterinary or medical experience required. Must be able to read through medical records and obtain important information for patient records.
  • Gather and maintain patient records.
  • Ensuring that our referral hospitals are kept up to date
  • Contacting referring clinics and relaying information to clients or other diagnostic labs.
  • Check emails and post as needed to medical records
  • Assist in providing high quality medical support and administrative assistance to the doctor team
  • This is not a technical position and does not include patient care
  • Crossed trained to work in reception area as needed
  • Answering high volume calls
  • Must have computer skills
