- Coordinates and directs all activities of the Obstetrics nursing staff.
- Ensures adequate daily OB staffing.
- Ma! nages the on-call OB schedule to ensure appropriate coverage at all times.
- Organizes and teaches childbirth education classes and/or supervises other RN instruction.
- Assists the nursing department in times of high census and/or low staffing levels.
- Regularly scheduled OB staff Meetings
- Participates in and promotes Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
- Assists in developing a qualified and productive workforce.
- Performs employee relations functions effectively to promote a positive work environment, influence retention and enhance communication.
- Follows all scope and standards of professional nursing practice guidelines.
- Ensures patient records are properly maintained.
- Collaborates with Medical Staff management and other health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
- Performs emergency treatment as required.
- Performs comprehensive nursing as! sessments in an efficient and effective manner.
- Promo! tes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
- Directs departmental financial operations, effectively.
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current Nebraska Registered Nurse licensure
- 3-5 years of OB experience required
- Prior management/leadership experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS)STABLE, PALS, and NRP required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferred.
- Schedule would be 5 days per week, with on-call responsibilities.
