Family Practice Physician (Full or Part Time)

We are seeking a Spanish-speaking, compassionate BE/BC Family Practice Physician energized by the opportunity to care for underserved patients in a cross-cultural medical home.

  • Physician involvement to assist in strategic planning, support and quality improvement.

Qualifications:
  • Grad! uation from an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy.
  • Completion of an approved residency program in medicine.
  • Board eligibility in Internal medicine of Family Practice is required. Board certification is preferred.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of Nebraska (or ability to obtain one).
  • Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community.
  • Bilingual in Spanish - ability to speak enough to examine Spanish-speaking patients and converse on basic level strongly preferred.
  • Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on the active medical staff of affiliated hospitals.
Responsibilities:
  • Provides primary medical care by caring for all patients in accordance with the physician's medical specialty.
  • Develops a plan of care for each patient, including: complete medical history, physici! an examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral, including hospitalization where necessary.
  • Stresses the importance of preventive health care measures.
  • Uses all available resources in diagnosis and treatment, such as laboratory and radiological testing, in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.
  • Confers with consulting physicians, nurse, patients, and patients families concerning treatment and care of patients.
  • Refers those cases that require specialist services, but maintains responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of a regularly up-dated performance improvement plan for the Organization.

OneWorld also operates several School-based Health Centers.
