Position Description

Enrichment Elective Instructors will work with students in grades TK - 8th grade giving children opportunities to try new and varied activities that may not strictly fit into the curriculum, but that develop character, resilience, and motivation, and encourage them to pursue wider goals.
Responsibilities

  • Enlist and coach students in interscholastic/developmental sports leagues that might include Golf, Flag Football, Soccer, Track and Field, Volleyball, Dodgeball Etc.
  • Develop and Facilitate TK - 8th-grade sports enrichment sessions that strengthen youth leadership skills, promote cooperation, and spark interest in a given sport.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment;
  • Support the social and emotional development of children;
  • Encourage the involvement of the families of the children.
  • Enlist and coach students in interscholastic/developmental sports leagues that might include basketball, volleyball, or soccer.
  • Develop a strong school culture by influencing, motivating, and building rapport with faculty, administrators, parents, and volunteers.
  • Flex administrative muscles to organize program schedules, and collect and enter important program data.
  • Be highly alert, and focused and take proactive, preventative measures to keep all students safe.
  • Develop and maintain positive teacher-student and peer relationships.
  • Implement classroom management procedures for all activities and transitions (training provided).
  • Be an active participant in the group, staff, and professional development meetings.
  • Maintain day-school classrooms, field, and office equipment in a clean and organized way.
  • Communicate, with a respectful and positive attitude in the CWC LA Community.
  • Safely use technology/electronic tools/supplies to maintain the quality of all equipment.
  • Arrive at scheduled shifts, meetings, and pieces of training on time.
  • Demonstrate maturity when dealing with children and sensitive issues.
  • Being willing to organize and enthusiastically participate in games indoors and or outdoors

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school degree or equivalent
  • Must be an organized self-starter exhibiting good judgment with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and demands
  • Experience leading or teaching groups of children with the ability to engage and inspire youth
  • Criminal history background checks are conducted on all CWC LA Employees when an offer is made.
  • Interested and passionate about working with children
  • Ability to work independently and on a team
  • Experience interacting with diverse communities and the ability to integrate into an existing school community
  • Ability to work with children in a positive and caring manner
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries with peers, students, and community members

Schedule: (M, T, TH, F), 2-6pm, opportunities for 2-6 hours per week

Compensation: $25.00-$55.00 per hour (dependent on experience, class offering, and class enrollment)
